The brief:

As part of the ISTD competition, the requirement of the brief was to produce a digital version of a banned book. My chosen book was Alice in Wonderland, with a focus on chapter 7.

The solution:

To create a digital version of this book, I designed a tablecloth which displayed the text from the chapter, whilst recreating the scene throughout the film, bringing the story to life.

The classic tea set gives a sense that it should be a nicely set tea party, but because it has been placed on a tablecloth that displays unusual text settings and strange objects, the nonsense and illusion aspect of drugs is referenced. This is one of the main reasons why the book was banned.
